CEO Attempts “Gentle Glide” Into 21st Century
SUNNYVALE, CA: Marissa Mayer, Yahoo’s C.E.O., debuted the new company logo today. Reporters and Yahoo enthusiasts remain confused.
“It reminds me of the Playtex Tampon logo. Is Yahoo on the rag? God-awful. Later this month, when it’s that time of the month, hopefully they change it back.” Said Yahoo’s founder, Jerry Yang.
Yahoo’s Marketing Director, Flo Crimson, defended the new imagery. “This is the right look for Yahoo in the twenty-first century. This also parallels our corporate plug and play strategy.”
A junior employee explained to reporters that the term, ‘plugging,’ refers to users typing in search queries. He said it was an unfortunate choice of words, given the logo’s obvious tampon association.
